Hi, can I release an add-on update only to a random subset of users, like 20% of all users? Google web store allows this, it’s very useful to roll out updates in cases you’re not 100% sure the new version is free of bugs (and when can you be sure of that?).

It’s not possible at the moment. We have considered it a few times, though, but it hasn’t been a priority so far.
I don’t think such a feature should be implemented. If the developer is not 100% sure the addon works as expected, the update should not be rolled out. Simple as that. We are not your guinea pigs.
According to that logic, no software would ever be developed. Simple as that.
