As Mozilla positions itself for the future, the SRE team is planning to decommission pastebin.mozilla.org on Mar 31, 2025. This is done to create space that allow the team to support new products and services.
Mozilla’s Pastebin has been widely used primarily by the technical community in the past to share code snippets and notes with others. From the telemetry data available, we observed that the tool has only been used by <20 people in the past 12 months, indicating low usage. The add-ons team, who used to heavily rely on Mozilla’s Pastebin for add-on review process, has also released an alternative functionality into their developer hub to replace Pastebin’s function, so we believe the impact of this decommission will be minimal.
