Raspberry Pi 4 [8GB], WebThings [V2.0] Update, Docker Version Installation

Just a quick update on some testing late last night.

Raspberry Pi 4 Model B, 8GB. Debian Trixie, V13.3. The most current Docker Engine, as of 11 Jan 2026 and WebThings Docker Image 2.0 [webthingsio/gateway\ - Docker Image].

Add On’s installed: WebThing 0.5.2, Tasmota 2.0.3. For initial testing.

Webthing-Arduino sensors are based on my updated code [webthing-arduino-0.3.0].

After configuring, and comparing against my master V1.1.0 system, the following has been noted.

All WebThings-Arduino V0.3.0 based sensors function as expected. Which is good, as I have about a dozen per installation.

All Tasmota based sensors can not be found or added. I have not yet had a chance to fully investigate, albeit, a ‘500’ error is returned with each unit when I try to add by URL. With no specific indicator as to why, this may take some time. The Tasmota based sensors vary with differing versions, from version 9.x.x, up to and including version 12.x.x.

Anyway, that’s it for now. Further testing to follow. When I have time (that’s a dwindling commodity) I’ll update some details on the WebThing V0.3.0 page on github.

Great news about the webthings-arduino sensors.

Regarding the Tasmota sensors I’m not sure what’s going on there and I unfortunately don’t have any Tasmota devices to test with.

Are you using the Tasmota adapter add-on? I tried installing the add-on and I couldn’t see any obvious errors on startup or after starting pairing, just deprecation warnings about the add-on manifest format.

I’ve filed an issue on the GitHub repository for that add-on, so please add any further details you may have (such as device types and steps to reproduce the problem) to that issue.
