Hey @tled128 ,

Thanks for creating this topic.

To support request a new language we do this through github issues.

Please use the following link to submit your request and provide details to make this request happen: https://github.com/common-voice/common-voice/issues/new?assignees=Heyhillary&labels=Type%3A+localization&template=language_request.md&title=LOCALIZATION+REQUEST%3A+

Here is an example of a language request for Nyankole on github.

If you are not to familiar with github, I’m happy to do this on your behalf but would need some details as show by the linked example.

You will also need to create a pontoon account. https://pontoon.mozilla.org/

If you have any questions or want me to walk though anything please let me know.

Thank you. I submitted a request… but I don’t think localization is that important because most Yiddish speakers know English already. How do I submit a language to be added to Common Voice without localization?

Great! At the moment it is not possible to add a language without localising the platform. This is an important part of the process. There are steps underway to change this, but they may take months to implement. The localisation load is fairly low, so translating it shouldn’t be a huge issue. The requirement is to get to 90% of the platform localised before the language is enabled for collection, so not everything needs to be localised either. I would start with the most visible parts.
