This is a Zibgee HA 1.2.1 compliant device having on/off, dimmer and power reporting capabilities. It shows up in the gateway as a smartplug device instead of a dimmable smart light. More annoyingly, there are frequent long latency or failure in response to commands from the UI.

On the gateway console occasionally I see Transmit Status ERROR: Address Not Found (0x24) There are tons of ZigBee messages being dumped to the console (as compared to the relatively few messages on my ZWave things).

I’m using the Digi usb stick XU-Z11from the approved hardware list.

I don’t mind investing my time to investigate and possibly fix these issues but I know very little about ZigBee and the adapter used in the gateway (but willing to learn :). Any pointers would be appreciated.

The transmit errors mean that the dongle sent a message and the device didn’t respond. What types of messages are you seeing (when you say “tons of messages”).

The classifier determines what a given device looks like. When we release the 0.3.0 version of the gateway, the zigbee adapter didn’t support lights. The adapter has since been updated to support lights. You may just need to update your adapter (Settings->Addons). The classifier code is here:

Unfortunately, even with the updated adapter, you’d need to remove and re-add the devices in order for them to be detected as lights rather than smart plugs.

With the latest version of the gateway (0.3.1) you should be able to see the version of each adapter that is installed, and an Update button should appear if a newer version is available.

From the settings page, the ZigBee-adapter is 0.3.2. I’ll try to remove and re-add devices.

An example of messages during otherwise idle activity - ie, no devices are being accessed by UI or rules.

How do I get the gateway to ‘forget’ the devices I previously scanned and configured? Right clicking the device on Things page and selecting Remove doesn’t seem to do anything.

I also tried shutting down the gateway, poweroff, restart and the same devices reappear in Things.
