I don’t usually have many tabs open. This leaves a lot of empty white space in the side bar. Why not use it for something else? Like recently used tabs. This would split the tab bar into 2 parts. The size of each bar could be changed automatically as tabs are added or by dragging the dividing line. Of course, separate scroll bars would make the the whole thing even more versatile. Of course, this should be an option.
