TL;DR: all GREEN.

Test Pilot

  • Q3 OKRs are set and have been migrated into Airtable.

  • Server and add-on updated and released 2018-08-28.

  • L10n updates merged.

  • Retrospective held on the past few weeks worth of challenging work.

  • Upgraded all of the Test Pilot dependencies which was a huge amount of work and a huge accomplishment.

  • GitHub tells me that from 2018-08-24 through 2018-08-31:

  • Excluding merges, 26 authors have pushed 6 commits to master and 66 commits to all branches. On master, 37 files have changed and there have been 257 additions and 375 deletions.

  • Of those commits, 12 were made by external contributors.

Cloud Storage Shield Study

  • Final report was delivered 2018-08-28.

  • 8800 respondents

  • 97% response rate

  • Google Drive, then Dropbox, then Microsoft One Drive, then iCloud.

  • Determining next steps for this project, including what team should own this feature.

Color

  • Randomize button and palette generator merged into the Custom background image PR.

  • Custom background image support is close to complete.

  • Dashboard for up-to-date metrics.

  • Proposal made for simplifying and merging all 3 Firefox theming mechanisms into one.

Email Tabs

  • Preliminary schedule created:

  • Final UX spec due: 2018-09-04; reviewed preliminary spec 2018-08-30.

  • Handoff for QA: 2018-09-18.

  • Security review received; one issue found that will be addressed.

  • Discussions started about usertesting.com test.

Laserlike, aka Advance

  • Launched 2018-08-07.

Notes

  • Refining Notes code to further clarify breakout and segmentation of users, specifically mobile v. desktop.

  • Planning for potential transfer of Notes out of Test Pilot to Alex Davis’ team.

Send

  • In progress:

  • Integrating Android and web with FxA.

  • FxA merge w/web application planned for 2018-08-30.

  • Discussions regarding file size transfer limits, uploads, and files per upload:

  • Decision: signed in = 4G, not signed in, 1G.

  • Decision: total hosted uploads (bundles): 16, files in archive (files per bundle): 64.

  • Syncing uploaded file list across browsers; this was demoed using Firefox and Chrome.

  • Android-components is building; this took awhile as there were issues outside of our team that we were dependent on.

  • New designer on board; completing a review on the current mobile designs.

  • Release delayed until 64 goes live due to streams API dependencies.

Side View

  • Working to get Side View into Shield; PHD written.

  • Shield PHD reviewed 2018-08-08.

  • Engineering work (metrics, onboarding) needed for Shield study.

  • Design in progress for Shield study (onboarding flow, doorhanger, etc.)

TBD

  • Team is working on a new concept, based on the discussions in the monthly MoCo meeting.

  • Max/diff survey results delivered.

  • Beginning discussions with outside teams to discuss overlap, plans, etc.
