Where can we find the new release notes?

When I upload a new version of my Add-on, there is a box to write what are the changes, one for reviewers and one for users? Even if I fill that box I can’t find later one where users can read these notes.

It should be in left column of your extensions install page on addons.mozilla.org.
However there has been a AMO bug (and I’m not sure it is fixed?), which caused the Release Notes box to be sometimes hidden on some language versions of your extensions install page.
As far as I remember I noticed my Release Notes was often hidden when looking at the install-page in same language-version as I was using when uploading the extension. However if I changed language-version on the install-page, the RN-box would appear as expected (You can change language on the install page in lower right corner of the page).

I have forgot all the details I noticed about the problem. Maybe it was fixed, maybe it wasn’t. I forgot to to do further follow ups on subject.
But if you cannot see the Release Notes box on your extension’s install-page on AMO, try changing the language on the page and see if it makes a difference?

Release notes are also visible on the “verson history” page (example). This is linked from your listing page as “See all versions” in the More information block on the left side of the page.

OMG you are right, at the complete bottom of the page, the language selection there makes this issue. As a Canadian I switch from French (Canada) and English (Canada) here and there and this means that English (US) don’t show any othe the releases notes I wrote.

Why English is not English, at least for this? I mean like a default if English UK is empty then the notes I wrote in English Canada could have been used, same for US. I mean does everyone fill the notes for every language every time and nobody care and US rules them all and no big deal if notes are not visible for any other language?

Now should I go back and copy/paste all the notes for all the English? This happen at a critical moment when I try to launch my first Addon ever. I think I will simply disable all versions.

When I had my first look at how to publish I’ve looked at all options and I should not have touched this one I guess:

But again, if someone have English US selected and that local is empty then the content of English Canada which I’ve select to be my default, should be displayed.

There is really a bug. When I want to copy the releases notes from English Canada to English US, if I paste the exact same text it shows in light grey and even if I press save and says saved, nothing shows up looking at version history when English US is selected.

But if I paste and add one more caracter then the text is shown in black and when I save it I can see it when English US is selected at the bottom of the page.

I think someone will need to have a look to simplify this.

@Rhialto, could you open a bug report on https://github.com/mozilla/addons?

Would not know exactly how to do it properly or describe it, and I speak french.

I kind of solved the issue by having switched to English US as default, now I can see release notes in both English US and Canada.

I asked around about this and it seems there’s a known issue where translated fields associated with specific versions of an add-on always fall back to en-US. So far the closest issue I’ve been able to find is mozilla/addons #5266.

I think you’ve found it and it seems to be a known issue since 2018 and that was recently closed as nobody wants to fix it. It’s mostly an issue for anyone not using default US.

Makes sense ( = my case is similar). I always runs sites using British/UK-English. I’m a Dane and choose British English when surfing, because the units used and the formatting of Dates makes more sense to me, than the ones used in US English. And how such data is shown on a site, is very often depending on the language chosen.
