Add-on review pending for over 2 weeks – need advice / help

Dear Firefox Add-ons Review Team,
I submitted a new version of my add-on [BookmarkHub - sync bookmarks] for review on [April 6, 2026] , but it has now been over two weeks and it’s still marked as “pending review”.

To make things worse, the same version has already been reviewed and approved on Chrome Web Store and Microsoft Edge Add-ons within a normal timeframe. However, because the Firefox review is still stuck, my users cannot use the add-on on Firefox at all. This puts them in a very frustrating situation – they expect the same functionality across browsers, but Firefox is the only one holding them back.
I’ve checked my email and Developer Hub for any messages from reviewers, but nothing seems wrong. I’m starting to worry that my submission might have been lost or overlooked.
Could someone from the review team or any experienced developer advise:

  • Is there a known backlog at the moment?
  • Is there any proper way to request a status check without abusing the system?
  • Are there any common reasons that could cause a delay this long in Firefox while Chrome/Edge approved quickly?
Any help or pointer would be greatly appreciated. I just want my Firefox users to be able to use the add-on as soon as possible.
    Thank you very much.

Hi Dudor, and thanks for reaching out!

I am really sorry for the delay, I really am. If you look at the rest of the forum, you might notice that some people wait more than a month before having their add-on manually reviewed. That is not the norm, and we are doing our best to reduce the time to review, but we have been experiencing a large influx of add-on submissions over the last few months!
Our principle is to manually review every add-on we can, especially those with a large number of users, to ensure the safety of the users and the ecosystem.

Might I ask how long it took you to have your add-on approved in Chrome and Edge, respectively, and whether it included a manual review?

Hello mozchris,

Thank you for your candid reply. I understand the backlog in the review queue and respect your manual review process for security.

Regarding your question, I carefully checked the review notification emails sent to me by both platforms, combined with the dates I packaged the software. I can basically confirm that the review took about one day for Chrome and about one week for Edge.

I’m not sure whether manual review was involved. Personally, I feel that Chrome’s review might not involve manual review, because the most recent update (v1.0.2) was approved extremely fast – I distinctly remember it was approved and published in less than an hour.

I recently submitted two version updates on Chrome and Edge respectively. The timelines are as follows:

Version Platform Submission Time Approval Time
v1.0.1 Chrome March 24, 2026 March 25, 2026, 14:52
v1.0.1 Edge March 24, 2026 March 30, 2026, 15:27
v1.0.2 Chrome April 6, 2026 April 6, 2026, 16:54
v1.0.2 Edge April 6, 2026 April 13, 2026, 16:42

The above information is true and valid to the best of my knowledge. I’m providing it for your reference. Thank you.

Thank you @dudor that’s really helpful. Yeah, it seems that only Edge and we are manually reviewing your add-on. I wonder why, though.
