Bookmarks Toolbar Shortcuts

Loving the speed of the new Firefox and would like to switch to it from Chrome, after going to Chrome many years ago when that older Firefox began to slow down. However, the dealbreaker is that I can’t use keyboard shortcuts to access the shortcuts on my bookmarks toolbar, like a Chrome add-on can or this old Firefox add-on can: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bookmark-shortcuts/

Are there any plans to update this or write a new add-on? I’m guessing it can’t be too hard to code (unfortunately I know nothing of coding or I’d do it myself)!

James,

I would start by contacting the author of that Firefox extension and see if they are willing to port it to the new WebExtensions API.

In the meantime, if there is a Chrome extension that does what you want, it is possible and even likely that it will already work in Firefox Quantum. The WebExtensions API supports 99% of the top 100 Chrome API, so moving an extension from Chrome to Firefox is often very easy. If you have a Chrome extension that does what you want, contact that author and see if they’d be willing to port it to Firefox.

Regards,

Mike
