Hi folks,
We’re super excited to announce that we’ll be participating (again!) in the upcoming FOSDEM 2026 in Brussels, Belgium. And with this, we’d like to open the Call for Volunteers.
FOSDEM is the largest FOSS event in Europe. In 2026, it’ll take place on the 31st of January to the 1st of February in Brussels. You can read here to find out more about the event.
Next year will be a bit different, though. Instead of the Mozilla DevRoom, we’re going to have a DevRoom called Browser and Web Platform. This DevRoom aims to bring together diverse voices and talents from across browser and web-engine projects - including Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Edge, Ladybird, Servo, and others - to share insights, challenges, and innovations that advance an open, interoperable, and privacy-respecting web.
The Browser and Web Platform DevRoom will be on Saturday (full day), and if you’re interested in speaking at the DevRoom, please check out the call for proposal here.
This time, we will also be sponsoring Mozillians (travel and accommodation) who will help us organize Mozilla’s participation, including Mozilla’s booth (to be confirmed) and the Browser and Web Platform DevRoom on Saturday.
Unfortunately, only volunteers traveling from Europe are eligible for the sponsorship. People traveling from outside Europe are welcome to join us, but will not be eligible for one of our sponsorships.
The selection is based on the following criteria:

Level of involvement as a Mozillian

Experience in staffing a booth or a DevRoom (however, do not be discouraged if you are a first-timer)

Cost of travel to Brussels (we will evaluate that depending on where you will be traveling from)
Most importantly, Mozillians will need to be in good standing with our Community Participation Guidelines.
If you’re interested in volunteering with Mozilla at FOSDEM 2026, please complete this form by the 7th of December, 2025 at 23:59 Central European Time. The selected volunteers will be announced by the 15th of December 2025.
