The EU council will vote tomorrow on a proposal to scan all private communications of citizens.
I would like to appeal to the spirit of Mozilla community to oppose that and contact the representatives in the council.
On the vote itself: https://www.patrick-breyer.de/en/council-to-greenlight-chat-control-take-action-now/
Analysis of the proposal: https://edri.org/our-work/be-scanned-or-get-banned/
The representatives of the following countries are in particular not decided yet and input would be valuable for them:
Italy, Finland, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Slovenia, Estonia, Greece and Portugal.
It is also worth asking for a formal vote where abstentions are counted, to prevent a procedural trick of ignoring them (more in the article).
Thank you for your attention and support!
