I have uploaded 2 extensions via the Add-on Developer Hub. Initially they got approved, but at the manual review it was found that it violates the policy.
Content, specifically Clone or Fork: There is already one or more add-on(s) listed on AMO with nearly identical functionality. In accordance with AMO policies, we will not host multiple similar or duplicate add-ons. We will reconsider this add-on if further development provides a more unique set of features…
The thing is that the functionality of the 2 extension ARE different and should be, even though they hold similar JavaScript code needed for the extension to work.
How do I get the extensions approved - they are not identical!
Thanks for the prompt answer
How do I do that. I am fairly new here and cannot seem to find the way as the reply mail from verification cannot be replied to. Is the only option to re-upload the extensions increasing the version number and write the “note” into the README file sent for verification?
Hmm, you should be able to reply via email, I will check on that. In the interim, you should be able to leave a comment by logging into the Developer Hub: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/developers/.
Don’t know where to put this and don’t know how to rate the support, but a big THANK YOU to @Edward_Sullivan + @Simeon_Vincent for responding so promptly.
Now we are just awaiting a reply back and an approval
