Help running the ServiceDesk

Hi Reps

I’m looking for 1-3 volunteers to help me operate our Community ServiceDesk.

I don’t have the time to process every request fully, and I think it’d be much nicer if I distribute the workload across 2 or 3 other mozillians.

Currently, we manage requests for hardware (laptops etc), but I’m looking to take on some amount of other request types

Here’s an outline of what you’d be doing

  • Respond to requests within reasonable time frames
  • Liase with corporate servicedesk to find suitable hardware
  • Approve/Decline requests
  • Request screening from employee sponsors
  • Ask our employee team members to raise service requests to arrange shipment
  • Track changes to hardware

Here’s what you can expect

  • To build an understanding of corporate IT practice
  • To practice strong project/time management skills
  • To be responsible for making sensible decisions
  • To embrace and take on the role of “Community Service Desk Operator”
