Inspector: "No element selected" (No CSS)

Version 63.0b3 right now, first noticed this in the update that introduced ‘Left-align Viewport’ in responsive mode.

After a while of working in a tab with the inspector open it will stop loading CSS in. Seems to happen pretty consistently, I’ve been disabling add-ons until I’ve just had RES and Vue Tools open now and it’s still persistent.

Opening a new tab will return things to normal, refreshing doesn’t.

Otherwise, I love what you’re doing!

I’m having the same issue.

We recently fixed a similar regression in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1487284, which was released in Firefox 64 and in Firefox 63 beta 5.

Can you check if you have been updated to beta 5 already, and see if the issue still occurs for you?

Thanks for the reply, Julian!

I’m still on beta 4 (and as most recent). I’ll keep an eye out for the beta 5 update and keep you posted.

Having the same “No css properties found” issue with 65.0.2 (64-bit).

Im having the same issue in version 69.0b1. Are anyone else still experiencing the same?

I’m having the same problem in 69.0b3.

Hello @redkite, @abv, would you have link to page, or small example on which you see the issue so we can investigate? Thanks!

Yes - this is what I’m working on now, but it happens with every page I load in Firefox. This started happening like a week ago, and I didn’t pay any attention at first but now it’s not usable for me.

I get ‘no element selected’ and ‘no CSS properties found’ when clicking on anything.

Im currently working on this page https://fho.dk/, but have experienced it in several occasions.

Thanks for adding the gif @abv ! I see you are using Responsive Design Mode, and indeed it seems that “Inspect Element” is broken when Responsive Design Mode is enabled.

I just filed a bug for this issue https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1565155

@redkite are you also using Responsive Design Mode?

Oh yeah, thats right - i had not thought about that. It works fine in normal desktop mode.

Yes - it works fine in desktop mode. The problem only happens in RDM.

I have the same issue here in the latest Beta…

Hi @elisasophia ,

I just checked Beta and Dev Edition, and can’t reproduce the issue (with or without RDM).
Can you share more details about your setup? Do you have steps to reproduce the issue?

Thanks!
