Last week on MDN --- July 31 to August 6

Chris is on holiday this week, so I will pick up the torch to talk about what we have been doing.

In the past week, I:

  • completed an Onboarding Guide for new full-time writers. Casual contributors don’t need to worry about this, but long-term contributors may find it useful.
  • documented MDN’s Editorial Policies. These policies have been implicitly enforced by MDN staff for some time; now they are explicit for reference by all members of the MDN community.
  • updated the MDN Editor UI Guide, which had been slowly rotting for a couple of years. Screenshots and descriptions are now up to date. This effort involved breaking the Editor UI elements article into several smaller articles.

What have you been up to?

Hello,

Thanks for those updates and writings  (which I felt were necessary for some time but hey, I didn’t commit any time to it so :zipper_mouth_face:) The Onboarding Guide will be nice hub to have

  • Once again, going through the updates on the HTML/JavaScript sections to push them in French.
<input type="x"> HTML pages should be up to date soon.
  • Played a bit with the new linter WebExtension, thanks @anthony!
  • The CSS section was a bit left behind with numerous edits.

Towards next week now!
