New Sub-categories

We agreed to make it easier to follow our sub-projects by making sub-categories for them.

So far we have created one for WordPress, so if you want to track progress on this project please watch it. Also we’ll try to move threads as we come across them into the sub-category.

Discourse is a tricky one as we have 2 Discourse projects, we have this forum itself, and then we have Discourse as a service, that we can offer to communities who want their own instance. Not sure how to, or if we should delineate between the two. I will make a subcategory called Discourse, but we should keep in mind it’s for technical issues, not front end discussion (like adding moderators or categories).

Please make suggestions for other sub-categories.

I’m not completely clear on the distinction between technical issues and front end discussion. Why wouldn’t discussions about Discourse (like adding moderators or categories) go in the Discourse sub-category?

Because the Community Ops team won’t be the team that administers/moderates Discourse. That’s not an Ops thing, that’s a user thing. Currently it is the same people administering the backend as the front-end but we’re trying to change that.

Wouldn’t you then have a Discourse Category there under Community Ops… then a Discourse Category elsewhere?

If one weren’t careful  There is a “meta” category, that is where people should discuss the content of this particular discourse instance.
