Number of voices 🤔

Hello everybody,

What is meant of “NUMBER OF VOICES” in each language description? Is the number of speakers? or the number of sentences? or What?

It’s the number of people.

@Adal93 : It should be interpreted as the number of different people who recorded, but it is not an exact science. The real number is usually lower.

  1. People are identified by their login if they subscribe/login.
  2. If they record without logging in, AFAIK they are identified by their browser session-id’s…

So, I can open the following sessions (without logging in) and I will be counted as different people:

  • On my desktop computer with Google Chrome
  • On my desktop computer with Firefox
  • On my laptop with browser X
  • On my mobile phone with browser Y

The only way to near this number with the number of real people is to make them register/login.

Also, AFAIK, this number is calculated against all recordings, validated or not. There can be some spammers, which most probably (hopefully) got invalidated (two negative votes).
