Proposal to move Reps Wiki pages

Hi everyone

After a quick discussion with positive feedback from Council members, I’d like to open up an idea regarding the Reps Wiki to further feedback.

Currently all Reps Wiki pages are under https://wiki.mozilla.org/ReMo. As nowadays quite a lot of people do not know where ReMo come from and mostly know the Reps Program as “Reps”, I’d suggest to move all pages to https://wiki.mozilla.org/Reps. Existing pages could be redirected to the new URL to make sure existing links and bookmarks still work.

I think this would give the Reps program better visibility and would make more sense for new people to understand that these wiki pages are about the Reps Program if they just look at the link (and not all our wiki pages have the Reps header).

If there are no major objections until August 5th, I’m gonna file a bug for the Wiki admins to do the transition.

Cheers,
Michael

It’s a Wiki - you should be able to do the move yourself - no need to raise a bug.
BTW you may like to consider updating the pages that link to https://wiki.mozilla.org/ReMo as well - here are the first two thousand

Wouldn’t that be something that could easily be done with a script? I’m honestly not very keen on manually moving all of our pages and setting up redirects.

Again, sounds like something for a script if we even want to do this. If we just redirect the old page to the new one, this should be ok.

Most of these seem to come from the Reps navigation template: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Template:Remonav . I’ll be happy to manually change that one. And the rest I guess can be left as-is.

This is done. The main page now lives here:

https://wiki.mozilla.org/Reps

All existing pages should have a redirect to the new name. There will still be links to the old names, but as they redirect this is not top priority. Will fix those when I see them (and encourage others to do the same).
