Wayland with firefox snap package?

I see the snap sets env variable DISABLE_WAYLAND=1. Even with unsetting this after snap run --shell firefox I can’t launch firefox with the wayland backend, i.e. with MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1.

Is the snap purposefully not built with wayland support or what’s the deal with that?

+1! Also interested in enabling wayland with the snap. I am running Ubuntu 20.04 Beta with Wayland. Certain websites make scrolling very laggy. Situation is much worse when night light is active.
