When a Quick Filter search comes up empty I often repeat the search in a different folder such as Sent or Trash. This would be much more efficient if I didn’t have to reenter the search term each time I try a different folder.

Toggle the pin icon in the top left corner of the quick filter bar. It does exactly that.
