Extension disabled by Mozilla shortly after submission with no explanation

I submitted my extension to AMO.

Within hour of the upload, the extension was marked as “Disabled by Mozilla”.

The email I received only says that it violates the “Acceptable Use – Deceptive or misleading” policy, but it doesn’t explain which part of the extension or listing caused the issue.

There is nothing in the review history that gives me any actionable information, so I’m not sure what I should investigate or change.

My questions are:

  1. Is there any way to know what specifically triggered the disablement?
  2. Does this usually indicate an automated anti-abuse decision or a manual review?
  3. Is there someone from the add-ons team who could take another look or point me in the right direction?

I’m happy to provide source code of extension if needed.

This is an automated action based on a set of scanners we have implemented to help us identify and address malicious add-ons. I am afraid I can’t share more details due to security reasons.

I see that you have already made an appeal using the URL in the email you received. This is what I was about to suggest you do in case you think our systems made a mistake.

Since you appealed, a reviewer will manually review your add-on and inform you about the status of your appeal.
