I have gone through all the related ‘chats’ regarding this topic…all the way back to 2019!! I’m almost afraid to ask, but have we not resolved whatever issues existed back then? If there is no hope for FVD in 2026, can someone please recommend an alternative? I’ve been using FVD for over 10 years and it has always served me well. (Still works excellently in Chrome). TIA
There is several good alternatives, even I’ve built one 
From what I remember about FVD, it was a privacy nightmare. They track all actions inside addon with google analytics, all your data goes to analytics automatically.
But what’s worse, the integrated search is routing your query through some private/3rd party servers and depending on your location (likely IP), you land on some “search engine”, but for example for central Europe it was some shady malware-asociated search engine with fake google logos.
And I’m pretty sure this is still true in Chrome store version and I’m quite surprised they haven’t been kicked out from there yet 
.
But then, sadly Chrome Web Store is known to tolerate even much worse extensions…
I make Tabdial, another option on Firefox, so take this as a developer’s suggestion. It’s a grid of your sites in groups and folders, free, no account. Your dial list syncs through Firefox Sync, and a free sync code keeps the same dials in Chrome or Edge too, if you use them.
Since you’re coming from FVD: if you still have FVD in another browser, its Export window gives you a block of text, and Tabdial can paste that in and keep your groups, titles and thumbnails. If you don’t, you’d add the sites again.
