Mi led smart bulb support

Hi Team,

Is it possible to add mi led smart bulb to my webthing gateway after connecting to wifi router?

I don’t have any ZigBee network. Planning to use wifi.

We currently don’t have an add-on that supports those bulbs, but it’s certainly possible to create one.

Thank you so much @mstegeman for your response. Can please guild me how to create an add-on?
Any tutorial URL, especially for resolving these kinds of requirements.

This is a really nice tutorial: https://hacks.mozilla.org/2018/02/creating-an-add-on-for-the-project-things-gateway/

I’d recommend picking an existing add-on as a starting point and working from there. I’m actually wondering if those bulbs are the same as the Yeelight (also made by Xiaomi). The hardware looks nearly identical. If that’s the case, the existing Yeelight add-on might work.

Actually, yes, the Yeelight add-on should work fine. Do the following:

  • Add the bulb to the Yeelight app.
  • Click on the bulb you just added.
  • In the advanced features menu (looks like an up arrow in the bottom right corner), click on “LAN Control”.
  • Toggle the switch on.

Now, install the Yeelight add-on and your bulb should be detected.
