Hi! My (private) extension was also banned, Canvas tweaks is blocked for violating Mozilla policies – Add-ons for Firefox (en-US) (canvasTweaks@khenr). Don’t seem to have added the ID to the manifest unfortunately, so I can’t provide that.

Same Problem here,

The Addon-ID 2938174 / version 1.4.

The Addon was never intended to be used by anybody but myself and my colleagues and not publicly published on Firefox… I recently discovered that the extension has been deleted and my developer account has been banned. I am currently receiving the error: {"detail": "You do not have permission to perform this action."} when attempting to log in.

I wanted to provide an update while we are working through this issue:

All accounts and their content reported here up to this point have been restored. Unblocking will roll out over the next few hours to Firefox users with affected extensions.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused for you.

I also wanted to share some context on why this happened: we’ve been experiencing a large amount of malicious users and activity related to extensions submissions and took action yesterday to make sure users visiting addons.mozilla.org are not exposed to that. Unfortunately, a few legitimate accounts were caught in this as well.

After we’ve resolved these issues, we’re going to make sure to review our processes and safeguards to avoid issues like this in future.

We’re sorry this happened and for the disruption it’s caused. We appreciate your patience, and the work you all put into the Firefox add-ons ecosystem.

Hi Andreas, thank you for the explanation and speedy resolution. My add-on is available and access to my account has been restored.

Is there anything that add-on developers can do to ensure this doesn’t happen again?

My case seems a little different, but it may be related.

My developer account was not banned, and I have not received any notice from Mozilla about any issue with my add-on or account. My add-on had shown steady growth over the past few months, then yesterday my reported user count suddenly dropped by about 35 percent overnight, from 1,868 to 1,211, a loss of 657 users. There were no new releases and no other known changes on my end.

Could this be related to the same issue, or could my add-on have been affected in some way without the account itself being blocked?

EDIT: It’s now been another day and my user count now shows as ā€œ0ā€. I checked some other pages for addons similar to mine and there are some which also appear to have lost significant users in the past couple of days, including one which lost over 5,000 yesterday. Please confirm there is a related or separate issue.

I’m having the same issue, no email or anything. I can’t login to my account and my extension seems to be blocked now. Extension ID is: hnlghhimlfidcnmaimhmmjkhmofolnpl@integralbiometrics.com

It may be coincidence/bad timing, I tried to log in today to sign an extension for my own personal use (for the first time), but on logging in I get the message that I do not have permission to perform this action. I can’t even access AMO :frowning:
